Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit our Justgiving page.
Over the last few years, Sue and I have become more aware of dementia and experienced the devastating affect dementia has on many people and their families.
This year, we decided to give ourselves a challenge and make a difference. We love walking, and through knowing families who have sadly been affected by Dementia, we have decided to challenge our walking stamina to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society.
Sue and I both enjoy walks but have never walked 26 miles in a day. As well as the physical challenges (hopefully not too many blisters!) we hope we can keep each other going to raise as much money as possible to support the work of the Alzheimer's Society.
Dementia doesn’t stop at the end of the day. Often the darkest hours of the night are the hardest and loneliest. The Alzheimer's Society's online community connects people worldwide to share a tale, advice or even just a word of comfort when it's desperately needed. Every £50 you raise will keep 312 people connected each day to Talking Point, our online safe space, where a trouble shared can be a trouble halved.
Every three minutes, somebody in the UK is told they have dementia. But dementia won’t win. Alzheimer’s Society is doing everything they can to find a cure, but they need our help. That’s why we're taking on Trek26 Cotswolds (26miles) for Alzheimer’s Society and would be so super grateful if you’d kindly support us.
No matter how small the donation is, it will make a difference to those suffering from dementia.
Thank you!
UPDATE 4th August:
Unfortunately due to Covid, Sue was unable to attend Trek26 Cotswold. In order for us to complete the Trek26 challenge together, we have now entered Trek26 Stonehenge which will take place on 3rd September 2022.
This justgiving page is still active and we would love to raise even more money for Alzheimers Society. Thank you.
