Julie Cornish is raising money for Maggie's Centres

Story
Well on 22 May I completed my first challenge to climb two mountains. Yesterday I with my sister Barbara, my husband Peter, my brother in law Shaun and my friends Bill and Chris climbed Scafell Pike, the biggest mountain in England. We did this on the first anniversary of my sister Maria's death and to raise money for Maggie's cancer care homes, North East. In June I hope to climb Ben Nevis. My lovely sister Maria died last year from cancer aged 40 and in her memory I am hoping to climb Scarfell Pike on the anniversary of her death and Ben Nevis on what would have been her 42nd birthday. I cannot promise to succeed but weather permitting I will give it my best shot. Along the way I am hoping to raise some much needed money for "Maggie's cancer caring centres" which has become a charity close to my heart and is one that Maria endorsed in the Evening Chronicle.
Maggie's cancer caring centres provide support for not only the cancer patient but their loved ones. The thing I love most about Maggie's is that you can just turn up!!! No appointment is needed. Maria would have loved Maggie's, somewhere to go for a cup of tea and a chat about all the things that worried her on a daily basis. She loved life and would have loved Maggie's because its core aim is to promote the joy of living even in the shadow of death.
When enough money is raised Maggie's will be built next to the Freeman Hospital's centre of excellence for cancer care. Newcastle needs a Maggie's!!!! If you would like to give an unconditional gift bearing in mind that I might fail at the first fence :-) then that would be very much appreciated. I will do my best for Maria and for Maggie's.
