Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My son Blair, ended his life on the 30th May 2021, aged 33. He suffered greatly from a social anxiety since a young boy, leaning heavily on his sister and friends in getting through social situations. As an adult this amplified, he found each day tough to get through, putting on a ‘face’ and always felt like ‘a rabbit in the headlights’ when ppl stopped to chat in the street/shops. He often would ask what it was like to be happy and wished he could swap our brains for just one day.
In his memory I am going to cycle 1,988 miles - the year he was born. It may take me a while but I hope to complete this by his birthday on March 10th 2022.
We need to help these young people who struggle, therapeutic intervention is much needed. Psychologist on NHS are overwhelmed. CAMHS are overwhelmed. In my experience, charities are doing great work
