Story
I am hoping to raise lots of money to support the amazing work the staff and volunteers do for people with life limiting illnesses and their families.
When Dad received his diagnosis, St. Barnabas were there to offer practical and emotional support not just to him but to the rest of the family too. He was a proud man, full of wit and strength. He went from saying that he didn't want to end up at the Hospice, because he knew it would mean the end, to sitting on the edge of his bed, holding my hand and weeping, the only time I've ever seen my Dad cry, because he was desperate for a bed to become free... He just couldn't fight any more. Within hours of arriving at the Hospice his pain was under control, he was comfortable and he had come to terms with the inevitable, he even managed to smile again. I will be forever grateful for the compassion and care shown to my dad by these wonderful people and hope that you will help me raise money for this incredible charity.
Please, please, please sponsor me whatever you can afford so that I can help the St Barnabas Hospice continue to give support and solace to other families facing life limiting illnesses and champion death with dignity. Thank you x
St Barnabas Hospice is a local independent charity and every year we support more than 9,000 people across Lincolnshire with a life limiting or terminal condition. We deliver free, high-quality, compassionate end-of-life care and support to patients, their families and carers. We aim to enable them to live as fully as they are able for however many days, weeks or months they have left.We are reliant on the financial support our community provides so that we can be there for more patients, their families and carers, every day of the year.
