We raise funds for CMT research to to improve the lives of people with CMT.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I was diagnosed with Charcot Marie Tooth (CMT) at age 18 with no information except ‘you’ll be in a wheelchair in 20 years’, which wasn’t what a teenager wants to hear. Fortunately, I have a rebellious spirit when it comes to certain things. I guess I still have a little of that fire since every time life with CMT tries to take me down with injuries I come back with a fighting spirit in a different way. Next year will be 40 years that I’ve known about this strange named, rare disease.

Will you join me with a rebellious spirit by donating for research so Charcot Marie Tooth Association (CMTA) can get closer to treatments and a cure?

I’ll be doing and keeping track of my exercise, biking, hiking, walking, and other exercise activities through Strava.  You can virtually
commit to doing your own 1-mile, 3-mile, 5-mile or whatever and donate or donate any amount for me putting my effort out.  One idea is a set amount per mile or minute during September or a flat donation.  An example: $0.10, $0.50, $1 per mile or minute, or a set total of your choice.

You can find out more about CMT and CMTA on

Home - Charcot–Marie–Tooth Association (cmtausa.org) .

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
