Story
My Dear Dad died at St Nicholas Hospice on January 19th 2011, as a result of a brain tumour. He was only ill for 7 months, and was extremely brave through treatment. The last 10 days of his life at the hospice, were very special to our family and friends, as it gave us all a chance to say goodbye- knowing that he was being cared for and we had the support of the wonderful staff. My father-in-law John also died at the same hospice on May 10th 2001, just 2 months before his first granddaughter was born. This is why I want to raise as much money as I can; hospices rely very heavily on donations. My friend Dave and I raised £450 at our recent 50th birthday party; £250 we donated to our local hospice, and the remaining £200 started off the Marathon fund.On Saturday 14th April, we are having a charity race night to boost the fund. If you haven't been to one before, then why not come along. There will be a free buffet, a raffle and a chance to win some cash on the horses. Venue is Moreton Hall Community Centre, starting at 7 o'clock. If you can't make this event, but feel you would like to help, your donation would be hugely appreciated.
