Story
Who do you know who was unfortunate enough to have a stroke?
Probably you can think of many, affected to a greater or lesser extent, some who have rebuilt their lives with support and maybe others who have passed away.
I am motivated to do something in memory of several friends and relatives. Some have now passed on but enjoyed continued quality of life for as long as 20 years after their stroke. Others are still with us and receiving specialist support and advice.
When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community. With more donations and support from you, Stroke Association can rebuild even more lives.
