Story
I am climbing The Three Peaks with my team at Burston Cook to
raise as much money as we can for our chosen charities. 11 of us have set ourselves the challenge of climbing the three highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales in just 24 hours!) Please dig deep (for a group of office workers whose only daily exercise is hammering our keyboards!
I have chosen Bath Rugby Foundation in memory of my great friend Dave Egerton who died last year following a short battle with Covid. Dave was a former Bath Rugby Legend with over 160 caps for Bath and representing both England and the British Lions. Four years ago Dave and I completed a mammoth 400 mile, 4 day cycle through the Alpes-Maritime in aid of charity and shortly before he died, we had discussed our next Charity challenge being the three highest peaks in the UK in just 24 hours...
I have decided to take on this challenge in memory of Dave who I know will be with me on every step of the way...
Along with Dave's proud wife, Amanda, we have chosen the Bath Rugby Foundation, which we know would have meant a lot to him.
The foundation is the charitable arm of Bath Rugby Club set up to empower young people in Bath and surrounding areas to succeed. They use the values of rugby to inspire young people to create a better future for themselves. Their focus is on improving Health, Education, Employability & Inclusion in the South West. I would be so grateful if you would give generously to help me reach my goal to raise £7,500 to support this amazing charity.
