In January 2015 Julian was diagnosed with the rare Bone Cancer Ewing Sarcoma. After one year of grueling chemotherapy and a shoulder replacement, we thought he had the all clear until we found it had metastasized to his liver, pancreas and lungs in 2016. He continued to fight and documented the ups and downs of his journey as well as advice and reflection on his blog - http://www.fightback2fitness.com/
After an incredibly gracious, brave and inspiring fight - Julian sadly passed away in February 2017, after spending two weeks in palliative care at the Joseph Weld Hospice.
Every single member of staff made sure that Julian, his family and friends, feel they had a comfortable and understanding place to share this precious few weeks. The standard of facilities and care was absolutely astounding and there was no limit to what they would do to ensure Julian was as happy and comfortable as could be.
This excellent establishment is only funded 25% by the NHS and run otherwise on donations. Therefore we would love to support them and contribute to their ability to provide the same great care to other families in need.
