Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Last June I donated a kidney through the Living Donor Scheme, through which my sister-in-law, Maureen, received a new one. We were both fit and healthy soon afterwards (and still are), thanks to the excellent care and attention of the Sheffield Kidney Institute. I am fundraising for proceeds to be split 50% for patient care and 50% for Kidney Research (both at the Institute).

I would like to show that donating a kidney has not changed my health, fitness or life in any way. Hopefully others will also consider donation so that many more people will benefit. Thank you.

About the campaign

Together we can do more for patients with kidney disease.

About the charity

We help Sheffield’s hospitals, community teams and health and social care services to cover costs their NHS budgets can’t. We fund support for patients and staff, life-changing research and more, so that we can enhance care from birth to the end of life and everything in between.
