Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

i am taking part in this year's London Marathon and raising money for the NSPCC because of the connection of having been  abused when I was young. The abuse had taken place during a period of time when you could not have a voice back then to go and tell someone what was going on.In those days that support had simply not been around. This abuse had been extremely traumatized because it resulted in myself having a huge amount of guilt and blaming myself. This also resulted in myself having mental health issues but over the years  i have come to terms that i should not blame myself.

So many suffer physical abuse and more should be done to protect those that need this help and which the NSPCC are doing today as a charity and for this reason is why i want to raise as much money as possible so the work can be carried on.

The NSPCC is my chosen charity  because they believe that every child is worth fighting for- and so do we. Child abuse casts a shadow that lasts a lifetime but together we can play a part to help prevent child abuse and ensure that children grow up healthy and thrive as all children deserve.

It only takes 2 minutes to help save a child’s life - donate what you can to the NSPCC and help children who suffer from abuse.

  1. £3 could pay for their Speak out Stay Safe programme to reach 1 primary school child, giving them the knowledge to protect themselves from abuse.
  2. £4 could answer a call to Childline
  3. £5 could cover the cost of answering a call to the NSPCC helpline
  4. £25 could pay for a trained practitioner for an hour – supporting parents and families in caring for children
  5. £555 could pay for their Speak out Stay Safe Programme to visit one primary school and speak to every child aged 5-11
  6. £1,600 could pay to recruit, train and support a new Childline volunteer

All money raised will go directly to the NSPCC.

Please help by donating what you can and thank you for doing so.
