*Update* We only went and did it!!!! :D Every one of us, in support of and INCLUDING my Aunty Julie, jumped 14,000 ft in David's memory to raise money for the charity he supported, but mostly to spend the day together knowing he would have been proud / creasing laughing, and cracking jokes at us. An amazing day to be part of, these people are amazing people. I'm in awe. And no I'm NOT addicted at the attached YouTube vid suggests I might be! :D

For those that aren't already aware, I lost my cousin David Fairbrother from Blackburn on 19th September 2011, when he was shot and killed in Helmand Province in Afghanistan. David was a Royal Marine in 42 Commando Kilo Company and highly regarded as one of the best of the best. His patrol was ambushed and he was shot at close range while on patrol with the Afghan Police.

On April 7th of this year, I, along with my cousin David's Mum Julie, Sisters Ruth and Emily, and his best friends amongst others, will be attempting a Skydive at Black Knights Parachute centre in Garstang Nr Preston.

David was a qualified Skydiver with over 100 jumps, well known for pushing himself to the limit and challenging himself to bigger and greater things. Hence him growing into such an amazing Marine.

This, is quite the challenge for me. As if I hope to 'not break my legs', the centre informs me I need to lose a stone in 6 WEEKS and improve my fitness levels greatly.

So. In the spirit of the Marines, I will strive (not to be the best of the best) but to push myself further than I've ever pushed before, and I'll support my amazing family as they do the same.

Please support our efforts in doing this (a first time for me) (-and bloody last! :D) Skydive, We want to raise as much as possible continually for the charity David endorsed. Some of you may well have donated before, I thank you, and hence I'm doing something a little extreme in the hope you may consider doing it again.
