Hello and welcome to my page!  For those of you who visited last year, welcome back!

This is the second year that I have taken part in Slimming World 's 6-week Slimathon in aid of the NSPCC and ISPCC.  ChildLine is the 's free and confidential, 24-hour helpline for children in distress or danger. Trained volunteer counsellors comfort, advise and protect children and young people who may feel they have nowhere else to turn.  Last year, 500,000 children called ChildLine but many were not able to get the counselling they needed. This is why the NSPCC is expanding the service to make sure the right help is available to all the children who call.

Many of you will already know that last year I was staggered to find out that I raised the most money in the UK - £1,001.46, which was just about 1.4% of all the money raised during the event.  Madness!  And it was all down to you lot sponsoring me so many, many thanks.

I'm pleased to report that I'm much slimmer and fitter than I was a year ago and, having recently been under the knife (no, not weightloss or cosmetic surgery!), I decided I could be trying harder.  Yes, I've lost over 5 st but yes, I could also do better.  Taking part in the Slimathon was very rewarding but also pretty stressful knowing that every time you were tempted to give up for a week, a day or even a meal, you were risking reducing the final amount of money raised.

Now last year I lost 14.5 lbs in six weeks which I think was pretty darn good.  This year I lost 10.5 lbs in the six weeks which wasn't miraculous but, then again, I was much newer to the healthy eating regime last January.  Part of my weightloss was slowed down by the ridiculous amount of time spent in the gym but the consolation is that, as well as developing muscles where I never knew I had them, I dropped two dress sizes!  Can't be bad.  I can't thank Addlestone Leisure Centre gym (and previously Sunbury Leisure Centre gym) enough for their amazing support and encouragement.

Another huge thank you to everyone at Slimming World's Sunbury Cross group and the twenty-one members that sponsored me ... and encouraged me ... and gave me shove in the right direction whenever I started flagging.

I realise that this website is a bit tricky as it asks for a flat sponsorship amount rather than an amount per lb.  As the Slimathon is now over (for me at least), it isn't a problem any more so please feel free to donate your entire life savngs if you feel it's appropriate.

So I'd better get my gym kit on, make some soup and turn down the heating (it makes you burn more calories, so I'm told.

I'll be back!
