We help people who are homeless to find safe and secure homes

Story

I am running the Marathon to raise money for Porchlight in memory of Polly Langworthy, the beloved daughter of my friend and colleague. The picture above is of Polly and this was Polly's chosen charity.

Porchlight are here for people who have nowhere to go and no-one to turn to.  Some are living on the streets and others need our support to prevent or resolve any issues that could put them at risk of homelessness.

Porchlight also help people with mental health issues, housing, education and employment to get where they want to be in life.

Your donation will specifically go towards Porchlight Open Door or POD for short. PODs are basically a safe, welcoming place where anyone can come along for company, activities and learning.

Each POD gets a variety of people attend, from rough sleepers to people who are feeling isolated in their community – it is a safe space for anyone who needs it where they can come and interact as they want to, in a non-judgmental atmosphere where there is access to support if they want it.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
