Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This was a tremendous personal challenge for someone with a fear of heights and took place on 18th July at 9:00 a.m.
The story behind my abseil was published in the local press on 27th July.
"David has been my inspiration to do all I can to raise funds, as he's battled the highs and lows of [Parkinson's disease] for so many years, with resilience, persistence and a glorious sense of humour."

A message from my son, Ben:
My wonderful, intrepid mother, Julia, will abseil down the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth in aid of research into Parkinson’s disease on 18th July.
65 years of courage and determination, and a harness.
Some of you will know that my father, David, started showing signs of Parkinson’s nearly 25 years ago. While this increasingly debilitating disease has robbed my parents of much we all take for granted, and despite two unsuccessful brain operations, and the struggles, stares and ignorance, my father has coped with unfaltering selflessness and without complaint. He’s an example to us all and remains a proud, highly intelligent and deeply caring man.
