Story
The Lincoln-London Queen Eleanor Cycle Ride (QECR) 2022 has deep poignancy as it is the first QECR for many years without Keith Busfield at its heart. This follows from his totally-unexpected death in March this year, as announced by the Friends of the Connection here:
It is with great sadness the Friends of the Connection share the news of the tragic passing of our friend and QECR stalwart, Keith Busfield. Our thoughts are with his partner Sue, his family and friends. All of us have been rocked by this news. Keith was such a lovely man, enthusiastic, loyal, dedicated and caring. He leaves a great void, when he had so much more to give. It does make his receipt of the Guy Mason Award at the Friends of the Connection AGM last September, in recognition of his huge contribution to the QECR and the Friends of the Connection, so much more poignant. If you would like to make a donation to the Friends of the Connection in memory of Keith, you can do so here.
Keith and I both rode QECR for the first time in 2011, and a number of QECRs in the following years..... Keith far more regularity than I! Click on the photo-icon next to the cover-picture for more QECR pictures with Keith from past years..... if only we realised just how much we should value every moment spent with someone so special, never knowing when the last meeting will be....
