Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My close friend Paul, was diagnosed with a stage 3/4 glioblastoma in March. It is the worst kind of brain tumour, aggressive and fast growing, he had no symptoms apart from 1 migraine which affected his concentration. He was fit and strong, took regular exercise and had a successful career. He didn’t smoke, ate well and looked after himself. He died within a month of diagnosis.
He leaves two loving sons, a future daughter in law, two sisters, a mum, brothers in law, nephews, friends and colleagues who are grief stricken and bereft.
I accompanied him on that terrifying journey from finding out what was wrong to the day he died. He was stoic and remained remarkably up beat but I knew from some of our conversations that he could be overcome momentarily with the enormity of it all and become engulfed with sadness.
I was astounded by the lack of progress that has been made in brain cancer treatment. This has to change!
So please give what you can, just give up a coffee and a cake or a pint /glass of wine this week and make a difference to people’s lives by putting that saving here and help fund an effective treatment for this hideous disease.
