Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 24 April 2022 I will be taking part in the Vienna City Marathon and have decided that it is about time I put my love of running to good use. Having completed two marathons (Amsterdam and Barcelona) in 2019, I cannot decide if I am more prepared or more mad to be taking on a third. However, I really wanted to do this for a cause close to my heart (rather than to prove a point to myself/ an undisclosed male!)
My close friend Imy, who I have known for almost 20 years, has lived with Epilepsy since she was 16. It is both scary and, at times, debilitating and yet she continues to inspire me and those around her everyday. From graduating Oxford to moving to Vienna with work, Imy proves that she will not be stopped by her diagnosis.
That said, supporting the Epilepsy Society in their world leading research and care for those with Epilepsy remains an extremely important thing to do. It is clear that further developments are needed to truly understand this illness and to ensure that it is as manageable as possible to live with. I would therefore be very grateful for any donation you can make at this time.
Big thanks to Anna and Henry for supporting me and coming along for the trip. I can only hope that Imy doesn't really mind me crashing her first week in Austria!
Thank you
Julia
