Story
I had hoped to do another hike 44km to fundraise for Sebastian's Action Trust & Macmillan Cancer Support (separate fundraising page) in 2020, and '21 but a little virus stopped me! I have chosen this hike as it is in September, which gives me time to recover from my broken toe and to start training from March (I hope). I also need to lose as much weight as possible by then too as I am currently 3stone/20kg over my desired weight - Gulp!
You can support me by as little as £10 or as much as you can afford. #SATNewYearNewYouNewChallengesSebastian's Action Trust receives no statutory funding. The money you raise will help ensure we will be here for families of seriously ill children. Always.
SAT is a charity developed from the last wish of one very special nine year old boy just twelve days before he died of cancer in 2003. In the last year we have supported more families than ever through respite breaks, outreach and specialist services together with our programme of events that connect our ‘family of families’.
Sebastian's Action Trust started as the dream of one young boy named Sebastian, who died from Cancer 24th December 2003, with his dying wish to have a place for seriously ill children and their families to escape for a while. And also for support for those families during the illness or in the event of their death :(

founder Sebastian Gates outlined his last wish for a place for families where they could escape
24/12/2003 – On the day of Sebastian’s death, his
fundraising campaign is headline news in the Ascot and Bracknell News, resulting in an outpouring of community support…..
The rest is history....
