Story

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

PLEASE CLICK ON THE VIDEO CLIP IN MY GALLERY TO THE LEFT TO SEE HOW YOUR DONATION IS MAKING A DIFFERENCE TO CHILDREN IN THE UK's MOST DEPRIVED AREAS.

Families and Schools Together (FAST) is an award-winning project that boosts the chances of kids in the UK's most deprived areas by supporting parents to improve their children's learning and development at home, so they can reach their full potential at school.

On the 2nd of June this year I will be part of a team of 35 colleagues taking part in the toughest challenge of our lives; a trek to Everest Base Camp on behalf of Lloyds Banking Group to raise over £140,000 for the Save the Children’s Families and Schools Together (FAST) Programme which helps children in the UKs most deprived areas.

Our journey to the Everest Base Camp begins in Kathmandu, Nepal’s vibrant capital.  A twin engine plane takes us to Lukla, the gateway to the Khumba region and from there we will trek into the heart of the Nepali Himalaya where we will reach the highest point on the trek at Kala Patter a whopping 5,545m.

Once at the summit we will push on to our ultimate destination, Everest Base Camp where we will be able to take in the breathtaking views; remote and windswept with the massive bulk of the mighty peak towering above it. I can hardly believe I have been so lucky to be selected, it really is a once in a life time opportunity on so many levels but ultimately to raise funds for an amazing cause.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please, please dig deep and donate now.

You can also donate via Text Message: Text (MJMP65) and the amount you would like to donate (up to £10) to 70070. (UK Only)
