So some of you won't know but earlier this year I was diagnosed with breast cancer - not quite in my plan for 2019(!) and particularly devastating for my loved ones as my wonderful Mom died just four years ago from the same disease.

Treatment has been tough but I know I'm extremely lucky to have benefitted from fundraising, research and support carried out and offered by the high-profile breast cancer charities. I believe those with other cancers aren't always so supported, and I can't imagine what that must feel like. To raise money for research into treating ALL cancers, and in support/memory of dear family and friends, a group of friends, colleagues and I are in training to run 10k on 9th February in the Cancer Research UK London Winter Run. It's great for me to have a focus for recovery, and I love running which helps, but this is a major challenge for my wrecked body after the rigours and side effects of treatment.

As a group we have all been affected by cancer in some way, as many of you will have been. Some of you will also know why we have named our group Titanium Warriors. I understand that you are likely inundated with sponsorship requests, but if you can be generous and spare a few minutes and pounds to give to a charity whose work helps so many of us, please do.
