Story
Six months of training is nearly over and on 17th May 2015 - at the age of 53 - I will be running my first (and only) Marathon.
Thousands of people run marathons every year but for me this is a very big challenge for a very slow runner!! .....Obviously I've therefore chosen one of the toughest courses in the country - Windermere. It is also one of the most scenic. If I achieve this it will be a lifetime's dream fulfilled.
A number of you have been kind enough to offer me sponsorship. As this is a local marathon, I've decided to support local causes. The Brathay Trust who organise the event are an excellent charity if you would like to support them, but my interest lies particularly with Workington and the work of The North Lakes Food Bank through The Trussell Trust. I am so grateful that I have nutritious food to eat to fuel my running. Some people in our town will have nothing to eat today without their help. A number of my close friends help to run the Foodbank from our church building in Workington. You can read more about their wonderful work on their website at http://thefoodbank.org.uk/
Thank you all for your support and encouragement - whether you decide to sponsor me or not - I am very grateful.
Love Judy x
