Story
As many of you know, our youngest daughter, Olivia, was diagnosed with a brain tumour on the 16th November 2007, 3 months after her 5th birthday. She has very bravely been through 2 brain surgeries, 2 years of chemotherapy and 11 blood and platelet transfusions. Her tumour is now stable and is being monitored through 3 monthly scans.
Throughout this horrendous time, Ben had to work, juggling hospital appointments with meetings and travel. Henry and Georgie, with the help of their amazing friends, passed their common entrance exams and didn't complain too much about the neglect! Olivia went to Marlborough House School as much as she could, sometimes just for 10 minutes ~ everyone there is fantastic. We couldn't have got through this awful time without the help and support of our families and friends ~ THANK YOU!
I am now running the London Marathon for the Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust, which is the largest brain tumour charity in the UK. It offers much needed support to patients and their families as well as carrying out invaluable research into childhood and adult brain tumours. Although I will have to replace my beloved Sauvignon Blanc with Powerade, I feel this is the least I can do to help this very worthwhile cause.
I am aware that a lot of you gave generously to the Royal Marsden on Olivia's behalf, but if you are able to donate anything, it will be greatly appreciated.
Love
