Story
Anna was nearly 3 years old when Jessica died suddenly and unexpectedly at just 7 weeks. I remember that Anna was so very excited when we brought her baby sister home and loved to sing and pretend to read to her whilst bouncing her up and down gently in her bouncy chair. After Jessica died we would visit her grave together and she would take little pictures she had drawn. Over time her favourite things to draw were butterflies and flowers. Now, 31 years on, Anna has her own young family and leads a busy life and I am retired I now have more time to try new things and reflect and act on what is important in life.
Anna and I will be walking 31 miles over 2 days as part of the Lullaby Trust Miles in Memory 2022. We will be walking along the Norfolk coast and will base ourselves in Cromer.
The money we raise together will help The Lullaby Trust raise awareness of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), provide expert advice on safer sleep for babies and offer emotional support for families affected by the sudden death of a baby or young child.
As a volunteer parent befriender for the last 2 years and a bereaved mum of 31 years, I know this is such a valuable and important charity to support. Thankyou so much x
