Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my page!
2020 is a time for new adventures & I'm lucky enough & thankfully healthy enough to be able to run... something that I really should not take for granted.
I started running 3 1/2 years ago after my sister in law died from bowel cancer. Sadly she’s not the only person in the family to lose their life (at a young age) to this horrible disease. Other family members have also been affected by bowel cancer & I have incredible friends who fight daily battles with other forms of bowel disease.
Research is imperative; into new treatments, new cures & preventative measures such as screening & genetic testing. Funding for Bowel & Cancer Research could prevent my children, their cousins & many thousands of others having to deal with these issues.
Now I’m a sloth and the back end of Brighton marathon may not be the most fun place - I said I’d never do it but one of those friends inspired me to sign up! ... and here we are!
And whilst we’re at it - there appears to be a 6hr timed track event in March. I hate track!! Oh & it’s in the dark - with no floodlights! What could possibly go wrong!!
And finally there’s Endure24 in June... solo sloth will be returning for 24hrs of 5mile laps round a trail course near Reading.... 55 miles last year - can we break 100km this year maybe?!
So.... please, if you feel you can, donate... I’d be ever so grateful as it’ll really help me get out on these cold wet mornings for training! ❤️
