BRFC May-Hem 1 May to 31 May 2021

Fundraising for Beckenham Rugby Football Club
£230
raised of £500 target
Team: u13s
During May 2021 we are challenging all club members, friends, and family to raise funds to refurbish the club! Cycle, run, walk or swim 500km (125km or 125 of something fun for youth). Set a target for your team, family, or age group.

Story

We've been part of the blue and gold family, also known as Beckenham Rugby Football Club, for over a decade. With the exception of lockdown, come rain or shine, every Sunday volunteers like Chris spend their mornings coaching kids. It's a community sports club which like many is special to a lot of people and has also suffered financially because of covid.

BRFC want to build a purpose built kitchen and players dining room to support more revenue-generating functions which will give the club some financial security.

The planning permission and technical drawings are complete and approved, and the hope is to get the build done this summer ready for the 2021-22 season.

To do this the club need to raise £25,000 which  sounds a lot, but with over 1,000 members anything is possible!

The challenge accepted by the Judson family this May is to cycle, run, walk and swim 500km between the six of us. Keeping us fit and hopefully raising funds for the club along the way

RCN CASC Registered
Beckenham Rugby Football Club was founded on 19th October, 1894 with 25 players. Almost 127 years later we remain at the very heart of our community. We are a hub for over 1000 players and social members of all ages (from 2 to 102) and we serve the wider Blue and Gold Community with associated clubs (Beckenham Rugby Cyclists etc) partner charities (O2e and CASPA) and events (Beckenham Half Marathon etc). We are self sustaining and strive to be the best Community Club. We have been well served in the past but we can’t ever be complacent so……..how do we make sure our club is here to serve future generations and continue to promote rugby as a sport for ALL? The 125 Build was kicked off to celebrate our 125th Anniversary (October 2019) and provide more revenue to keep the club moving forward independently. We are so lucky to own our own grounds and we should continue to take full advantage. To date, we have extended the car park, providing much needed space for our growing membership. Next we want to build a purpose built kitchen and players dining room, situated between the existing coffee lounge and the bungalow.
