Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Being part of the London Moonwalk has been on my wish list for a number of years! A breast cancer diagnosis in July 2011 has given me the drive to ensure that this year I will be part of it. Having completed surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, I am now in training!
On learning that I would undergo chemotherapy, my sister shared this quote from Maya Angelou with me:"The question is not how to survive, but how to thrive with passion, compassion, humour and style." Every step I take in this marathon will be a demonstration of my intention to thrive through the rest of life!
I shall complete the 26 miles for 4 reasons:
1. For my fantastic sons.
2. To thank my wonderful family and friends for surrounding me with their love, care and support throughout this journey
3. To thank all the women who have gone before me, without whom my treatment would undoubtedly have been much harder to bear, and to raise vital funds for further research.
4. To celebrate being alive and my intention to thrive.
Thank you.
