Story

The Head for Change Honour our Heroes (HoH) campaign is to honour the 1966 England football team on the 55th anniversary of them winning the FIFA World Cup for the only time in history. We appreciate them for being the group that has raised awareness of the incidence of neurodegenerative disease in ex players from a personal story level. Due to the high proportion of players from the 1966 team who are living with neurodegenerative disease or who have sadly died of these causes, they are helping bring about change to help present and future players. Head for Change aims for the HoH campaign are: * to engage football clubs, sporting clubs, communities and individuals to Be Active - and Be Part of the Solution for the month of July whilst fundraising. * to educate that a lifetime of brain safe activity can help protect your brain from dementia * to build awareness of neurodegenerative disease in ex-players. * to build support for Head for Change and to make sport safer
