Story
I am a 54 year old single mum, who came into farming with little knowledge at the tender age of 47. I lost my sister-in-law at the age of 40 to breast cancer, and want to remember her and a terrific lady who gave me my first break after qualifying in Rural Business Administration. She too was sadly lost to this dreadful disease at only 49 years of age. I experienced the fear of this disease having found a lump myself at only 27 but was blessed to be given the all clear. Last summer, I advanced from tractor driving to driving the combine harvester on the farm where I work in Dorset. I felt it would be very exciting to drive a combine harvester from London to our village in Dorset (The Bridehead Estate) to raise awareness and funds. New Holland Agriculture UK have generously lent me a machine for this purpose, and I begin my drive from Wimbledon Common on 9th June 2014. Please support me, and donate whatever you can! I would like to raise a lot of money and expect to complete the drive over two to three days. Apologies in advance to all traffic stuck behind me! Hoot if you pass me, - it will be a long, slow journey entailing a lot of concentration, I need all the encouragement and support I can get! Thanks to all. X
