Story
Today, Sean and I celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. As with most celebrations this year, we've thought of a creative way to celebrate with family and friends when COVID restrictions limit us from participating in large gatherings.
Rather than hosting a party for family and friends to help us mark this milestone, we've chosen a safe-distancing way to let others join us in supporting something near and dear to our hearts -- quality, affordable higher education close to home. We're asking you to join us in supporting the 2020 Some Enchanted Opportunity giving campaign to raise money for Johnson County Community College scholarships and student basic needs.
Helping raising money for higher education is the perfect way for us to celebrate our anniversary because college is where a small-town country girl from central Kansas met and fell in love with a big-city boy from Prairie Village.
As most of you know, I have been blessed to work at JCCC for more than 17 years, the last four as a member of the JCCC Foundation team. Our staff supports the overall mission of JCCC, its strategic goals and its initiatives. We work to provide access to the College for all students; advance excellence through the development of community leadership, business partnerships and financial support; and promote cultural activities to enrich the College and the community.
Because JCCC is the community's college, we'd like you to join us in this fundraising effort. Any gift of any amount adds up to a lot for students when donor contributions are pooled together. Let's make a difference for these college students ... they will be getting a great education, and they just might meet their life partner!
