I decided in January this year that I was going to run the Loch Ness Marathon - then I decided I should probably take up running so this is a huge challenge for me! As you can see, my target is to raise £100 for every mile ... so please help me to make every mile count!

I am running the marathon to raise money for CLAN, our local cancer support charity which has been invaluable in helping me to deal with my cancer treatment and living with the long term effects of a cancer diagnosis.

Many of you will already know my story, but for those who don't I was diagnosed with tongue cancer in July 2002. Since then I have been treated for a secondary tumour in my neck and a reoccurence at the primary site in my tongue. This involved a major operation in 2004 to remove the right side of my tongue and replace it with a tissue graft from my left forearm ... but here I am six years later to share this with you, and to take on the crazy challenge of running a marathon!
