Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I’ve never been much of a runner, often worming my way out of P.E in school just to get out of anything that involved running. Not to mention my clumsiness (I actually managed to break my foot running in a P.E session I couldn’t get out of). I started running regularly in January and I’m amazed at how far I’ve come since then, so tackling two 10km races in two months is a next personal goal for me and I can’t think of a better way to do it than to raise money for The Christie, a charity close to my and my family’s heart.
The Christie charity provides enhanced services over and above what the NHS funds. Gifts from the public make a huge difference to the care and treatment that The Christie is able to provide to patients and their families.
It’s been a tough year for everyone, which is also true for charities and cancer patients, who have had life saving treatment and surgeries postponed during the pandemic. The Christie has lost a quarter of their usual income this year. A 25% drop in income is a heavy blow and directly impacts on the support we can offer the hospital.
The pandemic ‘pressed pause’ for a lot of things but cancer and the requirement for treatment isn’t one of them.
The Christie charity, are doing everything they can to support cancer patients and their loved ones. So join me to help them continue their hard work and donate anything you can, even £1 is a big help!
