Story
I was inspired to start my journey through Ultra MMA for 3 main reasons :
1) Seeing my brothers doing so well with their discipline, attitude towards success, passion for their health and fitness, consistency with training, their mental progression, and the list goes on.
Nothing makes me more proud, and it was real wake up call on how much I have been struggling to better myself.
2) A close colleague called Maria Dawson was diagnosed with breast cancer. This was absolutely heartbreaking, and seeing that not put any dent in her stride, and the amazing things she has done to help others following the news, was nothing short of inspiring.
She has been working with an amazing foundation called The Boobettes - Coppafeel, travelling around and doing talks to share her story and help people with the things she has experienced.
What a hero!
3) Becky Hall, another colleague of mine, competed in the UWCB Boxing for Cancer Research shortly after Maria's diagnosis. Not only did she win her fight, she also raised the most money out of anyone at the Manchester event! To see the journey she went through and then the results of her hard work and grit was a fulfilling moment.

Along with many people, I have struggled hard with bad habits, lack of discipline, and being constantly ingrained in other peoples lives instead of my own. This is a turning point for me and I do not plan on reverting back. It's a chance at something new.
I now have an amazing opportunity to work on myself mentally and physically while at the same time doing my part to help better and assist in other peoples lives and struggles.
This is why I have signed up to the task and I ask you to contribute whatever you can to my journey, and also to an amazing cause.
Thank you so much - James Platt
