BookTrust (https://www.booktrust.org.uk/) is the UK’s largest children’s reading charity and are dedicated to getting children reading. Each year they reach 3.9 million children across the UK with books, resources and support to help develop a love of reading. I'm walking/running for BookTrust because I'd like to raise money to enable more children to have access to the worlds of opportunity and delight that reading offers. 

I continue to find solace in both walking and reading - the former to find some headspace, time to reflect, or even just a few minutes away from work; the latter because reading helps me both to understand the world better, and to escape to other places and lives. Both walking and reading sooth and challenge me. I feel fortunate to be able to access books, and also to be able to buy them for my children - who find creativity and wonder in stories. BookTrust do an amazing job of making those opportunities available to everyone. 

Because I'm finding long ascents challenging, due to my post-Covid lungs, I've changed plans, and am now doing the Montane Summer Spine Sprint, which covers 74km between Edale and Hebden Bridge; and second, Race to the Stones, in its non-stop 100km form - all the way from Lewknor to Avebury.
