Story
27 yers ago our first son was born with Cystic Fibrosis; my Mother-in-law Jo used to organise great bring and buy sales to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. Jo sadly passed away in 1991. Our son is keeping well and in 2010 married lovely Jess. So............
Following my Mother-law's footsteps I am planning a fun charity morning to fund-raise for the CF Trust. The event will take place between 11am and 2pm on Saturday 9 June at St Edmund Campion School, Altwood Road Maidenhead. Entry will be £2 per person (£5 for a family);for the entry charge there will be an opportunity to try out a fun Street Dance workout with dance tutor Amy Opalko, and get knitting and crotchet hints and tips with textile artist and writer Susie Johns.
I will need plenty of people to turn up on the day and I hope you will be able to come along and join in.
In addition there will be stalls selling bakes, makes, books and clothes and some lunch will be available!
I will need the following donated items to sell on the day:
Cakes/cookies/tray-bakes
Handmade items such as cards, home-made jam/chutney or any other crafty items (let me know if you have a speciality and would like to donate something). Please price items as you think appropriate
Paperback books - any recent novels or aga-sagas that you know you are never going to pick up again - all will be sold at £1 each
Good as new clothes - great items that you won't ever wear again and are prepared to (finally) part with for a special cause; tagged with the price you think they deserve to get for the charity.
If you can donate any of the above please let me know. If you can copme on the day - great!
If you cant come and still want to help find a cure please donate!
Thank you Please pass this on to friends and please come on the day!
The statistics are that 1 in every 4 people carries the cf gene and so in a family the size of ours' there are more that just myself and Adrian my husband that carry the gene.
