Story
As many of you may know, last year I was diagnosed with a glioblastoma brain tumour. Through grappling with this disease our eyes have really been opened as to how devastating it is, particularly for young people. Despite being one of the most common types of brain tumour, there is still little known about the disease and a lot more research into treatments is needed. We have decided to do a range of fundraising events throughout 2022 to raise money for Brain Tumour Research, so we can help people who will unfortunately be diagnosed with the disease in the future.
The first of these events will be participating in Brain Tumour Research's 'Wear A Hat Day with Flowers', which is taking place across the U.K. on Friday 17th June. The aim of the day is to wear a hat with flowers on it to raise funds and awareness for vital research into brain tumours. To participate in the event, Matthew is taking part by running a 46 mile ultra-marathon along the Pennine Way on Saturday the 18th June, whilst wearing a floral hat. Lizzie and George (his support crew) will also be wearing their floral hats whilst they keep the spirits high along the way!
We are also planning on doing other events throughout the year from the Jubilee weekend onwards -- more details to follow.
Any donations to the pot would be gratefully appreciated!
Thank you,
Joyce
