This Summer Kyle, myself and a few others will be completing the Yorkshire Three Peak challenge in memory of my mum, Mary. This challenge involves climbing Yorkshire's three biggest peaks, as well as walking between them, in under 12 hours. That's 24 miles of hiking with 5202 feet worth of climbing.
We are raising money for Papworth Hospital Charity, as they supported my mum and us so much after she unexpectedly suffered an aortic dissection. Unfortunately they were unable to save mum, but the care they offered was incredible. So much of what they offer is only available due to the donations they receive through their charity, which is why we are completing this challenge in mum's memory.
Royal Papworth Hospital’s always ensurses that it puts patients and their families at the heart of everything it does. The Charity is committed to supporting patients and their carers and seeks to enhance the support it provides to the Hospital. Charitable funds have enabled the Hospital to provide care beyond that of NHS funding alone, enhancing the Hospital’s status as the UK’s leading provider of specialist cardiothoracic care and the country’s main heart and lung transplant centre.
