Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Following on from the success of the online Christmas Craft Day last November, I have decided to run another virtual event this year. We are not out of the woods yet in terms of Covid and other winter viruses. In addition, I am going to be starting another open-ended course of chemo this month. Therefore, sadly, I don't feel comfortable about organising an 'in-person' Crafternoon, much as I would like to. An online Craft Day also feels like a step too far for me this time. Instead I've decided to take on a more spread out crafting challenge, and I'd love you to sponsor me if you can in order to raise funds for the cause closest to my heart.
So I will be starting a 26 Day Crafting Marathon on Monday 14th November. I can't run, or even walk, 26 miles, but I pledge to do some sort of creative activity every day for 26 days. I promise to share my progress daily on my Facebook event page and WhatsApp group. I will post regular photos and videos of the things I make. There will definitely be a Christmas theme to my makes!
Please support my efforts by joining my Facebook event, by crafting along with me and by making a donation on this page. Please show your solidarity with secondary breast cancer patients, in recognition that 31 of us die every day in this country. This year I, personally, have lost two good friends from my SBC support group.
I shall be sharing information and videos during the event to raise awareness about secondary breast cancer...because knowledge is power!
It is thanks to research, new treatments and care by the NHS and cancer charities that I am still alive 11 years after SBC diagnosis. Second Hope, operating under the umbrella of Breast Cancer Now, offers hope for a better quality and longer life for people with secondary breast cancer, by virtue of the research that it funds.
