Sands supports anyone affected by the death of a baby, works in partnership with health professionals to try to ensure that bereaved parents and families receive the best possible care and funds research that could help to reduce the numbers of babies dying and families devastated by this tragedy.

Story

In November last year, my nephew's wife Leighanne gave birth to a daughter, Catherine who, sadly, was stillborn.

Leighanne is trying to make something positive out of this by fundraising for Sands, the stillborn and neo-natal death charity and I decided I wanted to help too, which is why, at almost 60 years of age, I will be abseiling down Belfast's famous Europa hotel on May 12th, 2012.

Sands do such amazing work helping the families of those who have lost a loved one before their life has had a chance to start properly, so I hope you will wish me luck and give generously!
