We Did It…. #[JourneyIntoTheLight] 

It’s with great pleasure to say that after 4 months, we completed our #JourneyIntoTheLight  by collectively cycling 5500km from Dubai to London!!

This was in no small part thanks to some amazing cross-office collaboration, a collective effort from teams and individuals across various EMEA offices which was exactly what we had envisaged happening when we first set out. An amazing achievement all round, thanks everybody.

A special mention must go to Bjorn Milz from the Zurich office who truly went above and beyond for the cause. Upon hearing of #JourneyIntoTheLight, Bjorn decided to take up cycling to and from work to help us on our way, managing to track an unbelievable 2354.14km across the 4 months – amazing work!

While we’ve hit our km target, we will be doing one last push to try and hit our donation target of £1000 so if you didn’t manage to track any kilometers but would still like to contribute then you can do so at http://www.justgiving.com/journey-into-the-light/ ...all donations (big or small!) are welcomed.

So what is #JourneyIntoTheLight?

From Friday 1^stJune 2018, Aston Carter Dubai will kick start a fundraising initiative in aid of MIND charity in the UK. We are going to cycle (on an exercise bike in the office) the equivalent distance of Dubai to London – that’s a massive 5500km. 

In this journey from “Dubai to London”, we want to symbolize the journey anyone can have while suffering from a mental health issue – it will be tough, some days will be worse than others, there may be rough terrain, we may have to get over mountains, through adverse weather, but with the support of others around us to help those who are suffering bring to light their problems and challenges, we CAN and WILL make it out the other side together – this is the #JourneyIntoTheLight.

So what can you do to help?

Anyone can join in! To support our journey and help us reach our 5500km goal, simply jump on a machine in your local gym and take a picture of the distance you’ve covered – we’ll then add this onto our running total to show the distance covered on our map. 

You can also help us by donating or sharing our JustGiving page where we will be aiming to raise £1,000 for MIND charity in the UK.
