Relay for Life - Ascot 2025 · 19 July 2025 ·
We are taking part in the Relay for Life to remember those we have sadly lost, support and give strength to those who are currently battling and celebrate those who have fought and survived.
Our goal is to raise funds as a team to support cancer research and help end the pain caused by cancer, and put a stop to losing the people we love.
So how will we do this? Climb a mountain? Far too scenic, they said. Ramble along the nearby River Thames? Too far to travel, they said! What about we just walk endless laps around The Piggott School a mile up the road? Sounds perfect, they said!
So that’s what we’re doing. For 24 hours! We’ll need stamina, tactics and plenty of distraction. Most of all we’ll need the collective strength that comes from knowing we’re doing this for a great cause and we’re raising lots of money on the way.
We’ll be organising fundraising events in the run up to the event. Please support us in any way you can. Together we will beat cancer.
Thank you.
The Twyford Trotters
Relay For Life celebrates the power of community fundraising to make breakthroughs happen. Across the UK and the globe, teams of friends, families and colleagues fundraise for world-leading research to save and improve lives, then unite as a community at an event to honour everyone affected by cancer and celebrate the progress we’re making.
How does the money you raise power progress?
- £65 could buy special restriction enzymes. These act like molecular scissors to cut long strands of DNA, allowing our scientists to find out more about the genes that can cause cancer.
- £220 could fund our team of nine cancer nurses for one hour. Our nurse helpline offers confidential support and guidance to people affected by cancer.
When you fundraise for Relay For Life, you’re helping fund research and make discoveries. You’re helping bring about a world where everybody can live longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
Together we are beating cancer.
Thank you for your support.
