On a whim this fall my lovely wife challenged me to run the next London Marathon.  She had listened to a podcast with the race director, Hugh Brasher, and he had really sold the whole marathon experience that they try to create.  He also explained that there was an emphasis on charity that the race promotes.  

This year I will be taking part in the London Marathon to raise money for the Catholic Children's Society (CCS). I have seen first-hand the excellent work CCS does across London, supporting some of the most vulnerable children and families. It is a fantastic charity open to all who need help. Through their mental health services, family centres and Crisis Fund they help disadvantaged children and families overcome the challenges they face and hace hope of a brighter future.
