HI there, my name is Josh and I am from Huddersfield and just about to start year 10 next week. Lock-down has been tough for me because I really enjoy school and have missed going during this extraordinary time. But I am so much luckier compared to other children who don't even get an education. So, from then on, until the end of the school year, which finishes on July the 17th, I will be walking to school and back everyday. I am doing this for SHINE, which is a charity organised to help disadvantaged kids in the North who do not get the sort of education I and others do. I will also be adding a school book to my bag each day, which will in the end add up to 32 books. This is to raise awareness and show how lucky we are compared to many others. Hopefully in the future, we will have a much more diverse and stable society with loads of opportunities for everyone. Thanks and I would be very grateful if you could donate anything, no matter how small the amount, to go to the great charity SHINE.

I would just like to say how incredible this journey has taken me so far and how thankful me and SHINE are for everyone’s generosity! As you probably already know, supporters  of SHINE had originally offered to double the money I raised by the end of June. They have kindly extended this pledge and have now committed to tripling the total raised by the end of the challenge so for every pound you donate, three pounds will go to help disadvantaged children. The kindness of people through this pandemic has really grown in many different ways, and in this case, will help children who aren’t as fortunate as others get what they need to create a future for themselves. As always, a massive thanks to everyone and let’s keep raising as much as we can!
