Mine and Murphy's Story
Murphy came into my life in 2007 as an 8 week old bouncy chocolate Labrador puppy.
At 5 years old, in 2012, Murphy was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a highly malignant bone tumour with a median survival time of between 1 and 12 months.
Following amputation of his left front leg, Murphy underwent a course of chemotherapy at the Animal Health Trust lasting several months. Their knowledge and caring approach was amazing, and with their help, Murphy is still here bouncing today (12 years old, and 7 years post diagnosis).
Not only am I supporting the Animal Health Trust for what they did for me, I'm also supporting them for the research they do into disease, and genetic causes of ill-health in all animals (Osteosarcoma is believed to be related to certain genes). Their work not only benefits animals today, but also animals of the future.
