Funding Footprints Future , 20 August 2021
The pandemic has affected our charity and the families who rely on us very badly. We have had to close our doors for the best part of a year now and fundraising events have been cancelled. We are relying on the kindness of our supporters to help us.

Story

Footprints is a charity that replies solely on funding. The equipment in which they use is not cheap and the dedication they put into supporting children and families is incredible. On Friday 20th August 2021 We will be participating in a skydive to help raise money for the charity. Any donations will be greatly welcomed and appreciated.

Our family are lucky enough to have been blessed with the bravest most incredible little boy and Footprints have been able to support his ongoing journey. Below our cousin Francessca has described how Footprints helped to change Teddy’s life and offer the support needed not only for him but for his whole family.

“I won’t go into the long extensive medical history of my son Teddy, but he is currently 6 and has a disability. He is a wheelchair user along with lots of other equipment to help him. He attended Footprints from around 18months- 4years old. The staff at footprints are what can only be described as guardian angels, sent to help, support, encourage and guide.

When Teddy was born I was told a lot of he won’t, he can’t, he probably will never, which as a mother of a newborn is devastating, emotionally draining and heartbreaking. Along the way you start to grieve for a child you longed for and as the physical challenges faced by teddy became more apparent, the constant appointments became draining.

Then along came footprints. They don’t believe in wont’s, can’t, never’s, they focus on the can’s, and the will’s. They celebrate what might feel like to any other parent the smallest of achievements but to me and teddy they where huge achievements. I learnt to not grieve but to celebrate the amazing, strong willed, determined, feisty, o and very stubborn little boy I had, and I still do now. He developed in so many ways whilst at footprints, and so did I they supported me through some though times.

So a personal thank you from me (Teddy’s mum) and Teddy for any donations and sponsors there aren’t the words to say just how beneficial the money will be to footprints.

Also advice for any parents that may be in a similar situation to me and Teddy please look into footprints, it was recommended to me by a friend, but I don’t think it is advertised/recommend by health care professionals enough. I can honestly say I don’t think teddy would be at the stages he is at now without footprints.”

Footprints future still remains uncertain unless they continue to secure fundraising. They need to be able to open their doors again when the lockdown ends to help the families who rely on them. Any help with #FundingFootprintsFuture would be amazing and mean they can continue their vital work.
