Story
As part of the Team Triangle, I'll be taking part in the 'Triangathlon' to raise funds for the Centrepoint Emergecy Coronavirus Appeal. Neither partial to jogging, nor the owner of a bicycle, I shall be clocking up miles towards walking the length of Hadrian's wall during my daily exercise allotment. I'll also be using the stairways of my apartment block to contribute towards climbing the height of Scafell Pike in flights of stairs, avoiding social contact and armed with a travel-sized bottle of hand sanitiser.
During these challenging and unsettling times, vulnerable young people need our support more than ever. Centrepoint's immediate priority is the safety and well-being of the young people they work with and to keep their services open.
As Centrepoint is Triangle's nominated charity of the year, we visited the charity's Manchester base, which supports over 2,000 people a year, in January to see firsthand how they support people in immediate need, as well as those at risk of becoming homeless.
Throughout the current crisis, they are continuing to support young people through their free helpline for 16-25 year olds and their housing and support services, by delivering practical and emotional support to over a thousand young people living in Centrepoint services across the country, and ensuring access to food and other essentials, and through their health and well-being service which includes psychotherapy, substance use, mental health advice and dietetics and healthy relationships advice.
Please donate whatever you can to ensure Centrepoint can continue providing invaluable services for vulnerable young people during this unprecedented time. Thank you.
