Story
This September I will be taking on the Robin Hood Half Marathon in Nottingham and raising funds for an amazing charity, the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
In August 2021 my Uncle John was diagnosed with MND. The manner in which John, my family and close friends have reacted to the news is inspirational. Showing such bravery and courage after getting such bleak news has been amazing to see and to be a part of...
They recently raised a whopping £23,287.57 at The Lee & John Ball 2023! So I thought, 'lets at least make that a nice round £25k' !
If there are two things I love most it's my family and running... so this is the perfect opportunity to raise funds and awareness for MNDA and help more families out there kick MND's backside! #F*ckMND
What is MND?
It is a cruel muscle-wasting disease. Messages from the motor neurones stop reaching your muscles. This leads the muscles to weaken, stiffen and waste. Eventually, those with MND will lose the ability to walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe.
There is no cure for MND. Vital funds are needed to help research, but also to help support those living with the disease. My aim is to raise £2,250 as this will provide a text to speech device, allowing someone with MND to continue to communicate with their loved ones.
I am sure we can do better than that though! Hope I do you proud John ;)
