Story
Over the next 30 days I will be taking daily cold plunges to raise money for Children's Hospice South West; an in incredible charity that provides support to so many children and families across the South West.
When I think of CHSW, I think resiliency.
They work tirelessly to do all they can to support their children and families, and the impact this has on the lives of these children is nothing short of amazing. This is the reason behind why I have chosen daily cold exposure, something I think most people would agree is more 'worst nightmare' than 'refreshing start to the day'!
Each morning I will take the plunge, without fail, as this is exactly what CHSW do with their work. There is no day off for these children and their families, and so there cannot be a day off for CHSW either. They continue doing all they can throughout the year (24/7) because this is exactly what is needed from them to ensure they are providing the best possible support. The love and care shown from CHSW, and the gratefulness and appreciation from the children and families shown in return, has to be one of the most special exchanges you could imagine.
It is for this reason they deserve all the support we can give, and the money we can raise to enable them to keep doing what they do. Every small donation matters, because without these donations CHSW could not continue doing what they do best: ensuring their children receive the best possible care and support with their life-limiting conditions, and that their families have a place to turn to for assistance at all times.
Please take a moment to consider what you might be able to donate to help CHSW with what they do - this money goes further than most people realise, and of course in volume it can make a huge difference!
Thank you for reading, and please make sure to send me some warm wishes, as these next 30 days will certainly be a challenge!
P.S - if the water gets too balmy, then I'll be sure to add ice!
