Race Across America RAAM, racing 3081 miles, on a hand bike, with a team of seven other injured service personnel, from coast to coast of America.
I am Josh Boggi, former Airborne Engineer who was injured on New Years Eve 2010 in Afghanistan. I am training to compete in the RAAM with a team of injured service personnel in support of Help for Heroes.
Why do I want to do this crazy, insane challenge? Because sh*t happens and life goes on.
Life is all about pushing the boundaries to see what you can achieve. I would also like to raise awareness of the strength and determination of injured service personnel and try and raise some money for H4H, who have been incredible in supporting me through my recovery.
This wont be the first time H4H have done this, they had a team of 8 made up of 4 upright and 4 hand cyclists. the RAAM with Team Battle Back in 2012.
It looked tough, the team experiencing extreme weather conditions, fatigue, sleep deprivation, poor nutrition, but it was a group of blokes who when the sh*t hit the fan cracked on and got the job done.
This is why I want to do this challenge, to be a part of a team all pulling towards the same goal, Smashing the time that the team did it in last time
H4H is a fantastic charity and has literally helped me turn my life around after injury. This is an opportunity for me to give a little back so please make a donation to this fantastic cause if you can.
Thank you.
