Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am walking from Wembley Stadium to St James Park in Newcastle to help raise awareness and vital funds for Newcastle United Foundation’s mental health campaign #BeAGameChanger.

The Be a Game Changer campaign encourages all football fans to talk openly about mental health, to look out for their mates and to seek help if they need it. Talking about mental health can save lives as I know all too well. I was in a very dark place a couple of years ago and even contemplated suicide, but I got lucky by getting involved with the Foundation and finding out about Be a Game Changer. This campaign helped to save my life and the team attached to it are incredible.

I have chosen Wembley as it’s the home of English football and St James Park as it is my own safe space! The aim of this walk is to raise awareness of the Be a Game Changer campaign so that more football fans will feel comfortable speaking about mental health which can ultimately reduce suicides, but its also about raising funds and awareness of Newcastle United Foundation. They work with over 50,000 young people adults and families every year offering a huge range of free programmes that improve people’s health and wellbeing. I want more people to know about the work they do so that they can get involved and feel the benefits too.

My challenge starts the 22nd August 2022 for 5 days and it would be fantastic if you could donate to this cause.

This campaign helped save my life and the team attached to it are incredible!
